Ferro Silicon Nitride is an alloy additive in smelting of cold-rolling orientated silicon steel. Its addition increases strength and improves corrosion-resistance, thermal shock resistance and abrasion resistance of steels. In comparison with the traditional manganese and chromium alloys used for alloying in smelting corrosion-resistant steel, the consumption of the ferrosilicon nitride is considerably less.
An electric arc furnace is used during the smelting process of steel
